*Saturday, Sept. 19. Independents Day Columbus. This all–day event features the artistic and other stylings of creative people in Columbus. *Tuesday evening Oct. 6. Presentation, American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) Luce restaurant, Powell. Members and guests of AMWA gather regularly for dinner meetings and to discuss topics of interest. I will be talking about balancing a medical writing career with a creative one. *Sunday, Oct. 11. Southern Festival of Books, Nashville. The 40th anniversary of Kent State is next May and I've been invited to do my '60s presentation, from noon–1 in Room 31 at the Veteran's Memorial Plaza in downtown Nashville. Only in its third year, this relative newcomer is making quite a name for itself, both in terms of its reputation for excellence and participating authors.
